Pre-Treatment Instructions:

Shave any present hair from the area being treated on the day of or the day before treatment.
Discontinue waxing, plucking and threading at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
As always, you should protect your skin with sunscreen at least 30 SPF or higher.
Do not tan the area to be treated for at least 1 week prior to your treatment.
Discontinue the use of self-tanners at least 1 week prior to treatment.
Stop all Retin-A, Retinal, Renova, glycolics, and exfoliants 2 weeks prior to treatment.
If you have a history of oral herpes, you must pre-treat with an anti-viral 3 days prior to treatment.
Wash the area to be treated, making sure to remove makeup, creams and lotions. Do not apply any creams, lotions, or other products to the areas being treated.

Post-Treatment Instructions:

Avoid direct sun exposure for 1 week after your treatment. Avoid tanning beds throughout your course of treatments. Use sunscreen SPF 30 or higher at all times throughout the treatment when going outside.
Treat your skin gently – do not scrub, scratch or pick at the treated area.
When washing the treated area, use a gentle, mild soap and tepid water for the next 2-3 days. Do not use a washcloth or loofah on the treated area and pat skin dry.
Mineral makeup may be applied immediately after facial treatments. Since the skin is sensitive during this period, take special care while removing makeup to avoid damaging the skin and risking infection.
Shaving may be resumed 72 hours after treatment.
Avoid tweezing, waxing, bleaching or chemical peels during the course of the treatment. Do not use any irritants such as Retin-A, Benzoyl Peroxide or astringents.
Apply aloe vera or hydrocortisone cream to treatment areas to ease temporary discomfort. Ice packs may also be used if swelling occurs.
If a blister develops, contact your physician.

Lime Skin Care uses one of the most advanced diode laser hair removal system.

Diode laser that integrates a sophisticated cooling system with the advanced In-Motion™ technology. Previous laser technology emits laser light using a painful pulse method.

By contrast, the Diode laser technology emits a constant application of light, meaning a quick and efficient treatment.

Furthermore, the superior cooling head that is used means there is only a warming sensation during your procedure as opposed to pain and that “rubber band snapping” feeling you would receive from traditional laser technology. The treatment is completely comfortable and no numbing cream is required.

Microneedling and Vi Peel are other options for your beauty.

 Is Laser Hair Removal safe?

As laser hair removal only uses a beam of light to treat your hair, it is a non-invasive procedure which is perfectly safe. Furthermore, our system is approved by the FDA (the Food and Drug Administration) and thousands of patients worldwide have been treated safely and effectively with this laser. Because the device utilizes In-Motion™ technology and low-heat settings, it’s able to provide a level of safety unlike any other laser hair removal procedure.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

There are a number of factors that can affect the success of a series of hair removal treatments, but generally, after each treatment, you will see a noticeable reduction in the number of hairs that regrow in the treatment area. On average, most people will require a minimum of 6-8 treatments, but if you have dark and/or tanned skin, you will require additional treatments. Also, fine hair and treatments to your unwanted facial hair usually require 10 or more treatments.
The timing between your treatments is also critical for optimal results, as the laser is only able to treat your hair that is actively growing. Dormant hair follicles will grow new hair in cycles, which will need to be treated as they sprout. For facial and neck treatments, you should schedule your laser hair removal treatments every 4-6 weeks. For laser hair removal on any body part below your neck, treatments should be scheduled between 6-8 weeks apart.

After your course of laser treatments, you can expect a reduction in the number of your regrowing hairs by more than 80%, six months after your last treatment. You should maintain your results with touch-up treatments once or twice a year.

Who can get Laser Hair Removal?

With the Diode Laser, almost everyone can enjoy the benefits of laser hair removal, however, the overall effectiveness of laser hair removal is dependent on a combination of your hair and skin color. Since the beam of light is attracted to the pigment in your hair, the general rule of thumb is that your hair must be darker than your skin. This unfortunately means that the laser beam will not be able to treat “peach fuzz”, light blonde, red, grey or white hair, as there is not sufficient pigment in these hair colors. Similarly, if your skin color is darker than your hair, the laser will not be able to identify the pigment in your hair color.
Additionally, if you regularly tan, you should discontinue all tanning activities for at least 1 week prior to treatment to avoid an increased risk of skin pigmentation.

 Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

To date, there is no laser equipment that will permanently remove all of your unwanted hair. It is important to note that some of your hair will grow back; however, it will be a reduced amount, finer version or combination of both. After each laser hair removal treatment, you will have a hair-free period. As your treatments progress, your hair-free period will be longer and longer. Once you have finished your series of treatments, the hair-free period is noticeably longer, lasting for several months or up to a year. To maintain your results and lengthen your hair-free period, we recommend touch-up treatments every 6-12 months.
